About this speaker

Sammy Dabbs is working as a professional sprint/hurdle coach. He spent 11 years working in Division I athletics at three different universities (North Texas, Kentucky, and Texas State). 


His areas of expertise are the hurdle and sprint events. He’s coached numerous professional athletes, State Champions, All-Americans, National Champions, as well as Olympians.  He coached Tonea Marshall (2016) to a National High School Record Indoors - 8.02, as well as Melissa Gonzalez to a Colombian National Record & South American Championship in the 400 Hurdles in 2019 (55.39).  More recently he helped transition sprinter Aldrich Bailey Jr. to the 400 Hurdles in 2021, placing 4th at the US Olympic Trials.


Coach Dabb’s brings a very unique perspective as he’s worked athletes from the youth/club level all the way to the elite professional level and everything in between.
